d.e.b Fitness was founded by Debra Hanoka in 2020 to inspire people to be accountable for their health and wellness. With Diet, Exercise, Balance, and the expertise of Debbie, you can be empowered to take control of your lifestyle!
Debbie holds a Masters in Public Health Education and has been a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor since 1994. Debbie has dedicated her life to the fitness industry, and has specific experience in corporate fitness. She also worked on Norweigen Cruise Lines as a fitness instructor for 3 years. Deb is a Diet Accountability Coach and Motivational Speaker, which is available with her debTalk series.
Throughout my 25 years in working in the Fitness Industry, I have struggled with my own health and my weight. Like most of my clients, I was weaving in and out of fad diets, particularly in my 40s where I gained over 40lbs. I found myself struggling with depression, early perimenopause and stress eating. In 2015 I was diagnosed with osteo-arthritis and the extra weight on my small frame was painful. I knew had to make a change, because I was able to help my clients, but I also needed to be able to help myself.
In 2016, (a year before my 50th birthday) I made small changes that made sense for my lifestyle and my body. I changed my diet, when I ate, what I ate and how I ate. I knew how the body worked physically but instead of trying to find the next fad diet, I decided to educate myself around the science of how the human body processes food and burns fat (energy). This education helped me make better choices to improve my health and lifestyle. During this time, I released 40 pounds, but I also learned how to empower myself to keep it off and stay healthy.
My mission is to spread education, empowerment, and evidence around diet, exercise, and balance of body and mindset to teach others to get clarity and find their way in their own health journey.
